I am still involved in conservation works.Nilgiri Tahr is my target animal. Right now I am helping out HighRange Wildlife and Environment Preservation Association, Munnar in organising the 4th world Congress on Mountain Ungulates to be held from Sept 12to 15th at Munnar.(WWW.WMCU2006.org)
I was recently awarded the prestigeous endangered species conservation award instituted by Venu Menon Foundation,Wildlife Trust of India, and David Shepherd wildlife Foundation UK for my past work in Eravikulam National Park, Periyar Tiger reserve and Silent valley National ark.
Mangalvanom has very few birds now. High rise building, pollution and after effects of Sunami are blamed for this.Recently the state Government appointed Salim Ali Centre for Ornithological studies, Coimbatore to look in to the malaise.
If you are keen about birds go to Thattekad.
